NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week gets underway on May 9 with more catwalks, shop offers, exclusive VIP events and a smattering of celebrities

It's back, and this year it promises to be bigger than ever.

NE1’s Newcastle Fashion Week gets underway on May 9 with more catwalks, shop offers, exclusive VIP events and a smattering of celebrities.

In previous years TV presenter, Caryn Franklin of the Clothes Show, together with designers Wayne Hemingway and Scott Henshall have all been involved in hosting events during the week, with the after show parties attracting the likes of Dizzee Rascal, the Black Eyed Peas and music superstar, Will I. Am, together with fashion designer, model and musician, Diana Vickers all helping to put Newcastle firmly on the fashion map.

The event kicks off with the search for the city’s most stylish, with sees photographers on Northumberland Street looking for the Toon’s everyday fashionistas – and it could be you.

On May 10, Company magazine come to town to host a series of catwalks in the Assembly Rooms, charting the very best of Newcastle fashion.

Other events include Northumbria University Catwalk Show at The Baltic on May 13, showcasing the latest design talent from the University’s award winning fashion design departments.

A special shopping event is on May 15 and a closing party bash at Tup Tup Palace.
